‘Elements: The Archaeology of Europe’ will be co-edited by Manuel Fernandez-Götz and Bettina Arnold (University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee) and is a collaborative publishing venture between Cambridge University Press and the European Association of Archaeologists. The series will be composed of concise, authoritative, and peer-reviewed studies by leading scholars, each volume providing timely and accessible information about the latest research into the archaeology of Europe from the Palaeolithic to Late Antiquity, as well as on heritage preservation.

Over the next five years around 40 short monographs by leading experts will be published.

Dr Manuel Fernández-Götz said, ‘The formula of 20,000-30,000 word books, rapid publication, digital access, as well as print-on-demand, is especially well-suited to presenting cutting-edge research in European archaeology. Topics will range from 3D modelling of artefacts, sites, and data to the latest genetic evidence for the introduction of farming to Europe.’
