The School of History, Classics and Archaeology was delighted to hear confirmation of Tsiona Lida’s being awarded a Kennedy Scholarship. The Scholarship is an academic award for study at either Harvard or MIT. Tsiona, who graduates from the University of Edinburgh in July, said, ‘I feel honoured and very happy to be one of this year's recipients of the Kennedy Scholarship. The Scholarship will allow me to pursue independent research dealing with emotions in history as well as the Israel/Palestine conflict, so the opportunity to take a variety of classes and study with the History, Psychology, and Middle Eastern faculties simultaneously will be unique.’

‘I'm most grateful to Edinburgh's History Department for the support and encouragement throughout my studies and this application.’

Dr Thomas Ahnert, Head of History Subject Area said, '’Many congratulations to Tsiona on being awarded a Kennedy Scholarship to study at Harvard University for the academic year 2018 - 19. The Kennedy Scholarships are one of the most prestigious and selective scholarship programmes for UK students. Tsiona’s splendid success is testimony to her ability and dedication. We wish her every success in pursuing her research on the history of emotions and the Israeli-Palestianian conflict.’
