Delmas Award for PhD Student
The School of History, Classics and Archaeology was delighted to hear that Tamsin Prideaux has been awarded a grant by the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation. (Published 31 July, 2018)
The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation (British and Commonwealth Committee) recently announced it grantees for 2018-2019 and second year PhD candidate Tamsim Prideaux has been named as a winner. The award is for study based on travel to and research in Venice and the Veneto and other territories of the former Venetian Republic.
Tamsin said, "I was thrilled to win the Delmas award because it allows me to carry out crucial primary research for my PhD project, ‘Economic and Cultural Exchange in Early Modern Venice: The Cinque Savi alla Mercanzia and the control of immigrant groups, 1550 – 1700’, and enjoy the beautiful city itself."
The Foundation was established by Gladys Krieble Delmas in 1976 to encourage research and publications in the English-speaking world that would highlight the heritage of Venice and the Veneto.
