Meet your supervisor (research programmes)

Your primary supervisor is your main point of contact for academic guidance and pastoral matters.

Research students (PhD and MSc by Research) are assigned a primary and secondary supervisor. Your primary supervisor is your main point of contact for academic guidance and pastoral matters.

Make an appointment

Your superviosr will contact you to advise how to make an online appointment.  This online meeting  should take place during Welcome Week, or as soon as possible the following week.

This meeting will be used to complete your new students forms, assess your skills training needs, agree an initial working title for your research and set a preliminary schedule of study for your first year.

Register for courses

You may also be asked to register for certain courses - although these are not required for credit in the way they are for taught MSc programmes, we nonetheless need you to tell us about these so they can be entered correctly against your student record.

Please be aware that there is a maximum number of courses that you will be permitted to take in each academic year and College concessions may be required.  Further information can be found in the Postgraduate Degree Programme Regulations.
