Rethinking the past

Join scholars from across the School of History, Classics and Archaeology, who in a new series of public lectures will challenge popular beliefs and reassess intriguing events from throughout history. (Published 16 June 2015)

The School will host four free public lectures during the Edinburgh Festivals, taking place from 10 to 13 August 2015. Each event will take place over a lunchtime in the historic Anatomy Lecture Theatre.

These events will delve into contested aspects of history; the elite Roman military, the state of Scottish politics, the wild man of the ancient world, and the French national identity crisis.

The events will also be followed by interactive question and answer sessions, giving members of the audience a chance to voice their own opinions and engage in some lively debate.
