Archaeology alumna awarded dissertation prize

Archaeology graduate awarded the Royal Archaeological Institute's Tony Baggs Award. (Published 17 September 2017)

Isobel Walker, who graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a First Class MA (Hons) in Archaeology in July 2012, has been awarded the Royal Archaeological Institute’s (RAI) Tony Baggs Award for the best undergraduate dissertation in 2012.

This award goes to the best undergraduate dissertation on a subject concerning the archaeology or architectural history of Britain, Ireland and adjacent areas of Europe. The chief criteria considered are the quality of work and the appropriateness to the interests of the RAI as reflected in the Journal’.

Royal Archaeological Institute - research grants

Isobel’s excellent dissertation was entitled “A Study of Fracture Patterns in Roman and Medieval British Populations’. Isobel’s award was £500 and one year's membership subscription to the Royal Archaeological Institute.
