Honorary Fellow, and Principal Archaeological Research Curator at the National Museum of Scotland, has been named as the 2018 recipient of the Grahame Clark Medal by the British Academy.

The prizes and medals awarded by the British Academy recognise individuals for their distinction in – and dedication to – the subjects. Dr Sheridan will receive the Grahame Clark Medal for her outstanding research and wide-ranging contribution to the study of early prehistory, at a ceremony on Tuesday 25 September.

Dr Sheridan said: “I am overwhelmed and deeply honoured to be the recipient of this prestigious medal. This is a wonderful endorsement of the value of museum-based research and of the role of the museum curator in furthering our understanding of our prehistory. It is a real privilege to be working at such a fascinating time.”

The School sends its warmest congratulations to Dr Sheridan on this award.
