Dr Christian Djurslev
Teaching Fellow; Ancient Greek History
I am fortunate to join the Edinburgh Classics department this year for a long-term teaching fellowship (to cover for Dr Mirko Canevaro, who is on research leave). Before coming to Scotland, I lived in the sunny southwest of England, where I did my MA (2011-12) and PhD (2012-15) in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Exeter. I am originally from Copenhagen, Denmark. Just as my marauding ancestors, I enjoy the rich and diverse cultural life that Britain has to offer, including Celtic languages and music. I maintain strong ties to Copenhagen and its university, where I took my BA (2007-11) and another MA, concurrent with my doctoral research, in 2012-14. While studying, I also held research fellowships in Athens (Danish School), Geneva, Switzerland (the magnificent library of the Fondation Hardt), and Kiel, Germany (Institut für Klassische Altertumskunde, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel).
External Research Fellow, Waterloo Institute of Hellenistic Studies, Ontario, Canada.
Honorary Research Fellow, Department of Classics & Ancient History, University of Exeter.
