Biography
I joined the Classics Department permanently in August 2022, having previously taught Latin and Greek language and literature in Ireland (Maynooth), Wales (Swansea) and Germany (Munich). I gained my PhD in Munich in 2018 with a commentary on the second book of Seneca's Epistulae Morales.
I welcome enquiries from postgraduates who want to work on Seneca the Younger and/or other letter writers.

Research interests
My research focuses primarily on ancient letter writers, in particular Seneca the Younger and Fronto, and letter collections more generally. In 2021, my first book was published with OUP: Seneca Epistulae Morales Book 2. A Commentary with Text, Translation & Introduction.
Current research activities
I am currently involved in co-editing three volumes: on fictionality in ancient epistolography (together with Claire Rachel Jackson); on fallibility and fallibilism in ancient literature and philosophy (together with Therese Fuhrer); on Italo Calvino and the Classics (together with Lisa Cordes and Marco Formisano).
I am also undertaking research towards my second monograph, a study of addressees in ancient letter collections.
