Sir Keith Pearson Visits Nursing Studies
Sir Keith Pearson, Chair Health Education England visits Nursing Studies
Sir Keith Pearson was appointed as Chair of Health Education England in June 2012 and is a former Chair of NHS East of England and the NHS Confederation.
He is also an independent adviser to the Department of Health on the recovery of NHS costs from overseas visitors and migrants. Sir Keith, who was influential in developing the NHS Constitution, received a Knighthood in June 2010 for services to healthcare.
The visit was part of Sir Keith's role as mentor to Dr Aisha Holloway during her Florence Nightingale Foundation Leadership Scholarship. Sir Keith met with academics from Nursing Studies followed by an engaging discussion session with current UG Nursing Students.
The students were able to explore with Sir Keith aspects of leadership relevant to nursing and also receive some insight into what it takes to be an authentic leader who has impact on patient care.
