Edinburgh Global Nursing Initiative

Our launch

Hear from Nursing Now Co-Chairs Lord Nigel Crisp and Professor Sheila Tlou as we launch our new initiative to equip nurses and midwives to tackle global healthcare challenges.

The first pioneering projects of the Edinburgh Global Nursing Initiative will improve care for people who use health services in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of Liberia and Uganda, read the full news story on the University's webpage.

As we launch our Edinburgh Global Nursing Initiative (EGNI), it is with the greatest pleasure and gratitude that both Lord Nigel Crisp and Professor Sheila Tlou, Co-Chairs of the Nursing Now global campaign, send their messages of support to us.

The EGNI has been inspired by the history of Nursing Studies at the University of Edinburgh as a pioneer, responsive and progressive across the decades. The Year of the Nurse and the Midwife and Nursing Now offers the opportunity for a new legacy to advance the evidence, innovation and impact of nursing globally.
