Year 2 courses

• From Two Person to Three Person to the Group: A Psychodynamic Perspective
• Transitions, Endings and Beginnings
• Psychological Vulnerabilities and Distress in counselling
• Between Counselling and Research 2: Qualitative Methodologies
• Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice  / Placement 2

Students begin to work on their thesis in Year 2

Year 3 courses

• Practice Seminar in Counselling and Psychotherapy
• Professional Accreditation
• Counselling and Psychotherapy Placement 3

Work on thesis continues throughout year 3

Year 4 – focus on completion of thesis

Practice components

Students are required to complete a total of 300 hours of supervised client work in a practice placement to gain this qualification. We guarantee our full time DPsychotherapy students a first placement in our own dedicated counselling service, Hope Park Counselling Centre.  We also have excellent links with a range of agencies across Scotland, and support students to find their second practice placement within one of these agencies.
