Health psychology

Applying psychological theory to healthy living, healthy attitudes and behaviours.

Research in health psychology explores the role of psychological processes on health, illness and healthcare. Our research in this area involves a wide range of topics, spanning from food choice, injury prevention, child and adolescent health, and engaging with greenspace, through to developing strategies to support those managing long term health conditions. A particular area of expertise in this theme is in the application of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and third wave approaches.
