Congratulations to Dr Siobhan O’Connor who has received a prestigious Florence Nightingale Foundation Emerging Leaders Leadership Scholarship.

The Florence Nightingale Foundation offers these scholarships to nurses, midwives and allied health professionals who are emerging leaders in their fields to enhance leadership capabilities through a year-long, bespoke leadership development programme, enabling them to contribute to health policy and practice.

Moreover, the scholarship will support Dr O’Connor to visit the United States to work with and be mentored by senior nurse leaders in informatics, innovation and entrepreneurship. This will strengthen her existing teaching and research, along with her clinical and industry collaborations, contributing to digital leadership in nursing in the UK.

As 2020 is the World Health Organization (WHO) designated Year of the Nurse and Midwife, this opportunity will facilitate Dr O’Connor to advocate for strategic change and influence policy to embed technology in nursing education and practice, ensuring digitally supported, high-quality health for all.
