Autoethnography as a research approach: an introduction

Autoethnography as an approach to inquiry works at the joins, flows, and intersections between the personal and the cultural. It explores the cultural - and the political - through and with the personal.

This participative workshop, hosted by Professor Johnathan Wyatt, is aimed at both students and staff interested (however tentatively) in drawing upon autoethnography in their research.

It may also appeal to those who are supervising others’ autoethnographic projects. The workshop will be participative and practical. It will involve thinking and talking about the theories behind autoethnography, the challenges of and to it as an approach, and the ethical issues that arise.

Key to the event is that we will also do some writing and there will be a couple of readings to look at beforehand.

Tickets are free but registration is required to secure your place:
