American Relational Psychoanalysis Reading Group

Led by Rob Fellman and Sharan Collins, this reading group will provide an introduction to the key concepts, theorists, and techniques associated with American Relational Psychoanalysis, a relatively new wing of psychoanalytic thought incorporating elements of British Object Relations, Heinz Kohut's Self Psychology, Harry Stack Sullivan and the Interpersonalists.

More about Rob and Sharan:

Rob Fellman

Rob has six years of experience working one-on-one with clients in office/clinic settings. He holds a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies (New York City); a Master of Arts from New York University; and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.

Sharan Collins

Sharan is a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Supervisor in private practice in Edinburgh. She has spent the last five years in the voluntary sector as a therapist having previously being involved in the establishment and management of a counselling centre in the charity sector. She has recently completed a Masters on the invitational quality of shame and is interested in continuing research on the role of shame within the therapeutic and supervisory relationship.
