Dr Phil Walsh
University Biological Safety Adviser
Phil is a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner and Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. He has professional qualifications and experience in health and safety management, environmental management and biological safety as well as broad research experience in microbiology, genetics and molecular biology working in universities and government research institutes.

Dr Fiona Harris
Biosafety Training and Development Assistant
Fiona has a PhD in molecular biosciences and over 25 years of research experience in academia and the pharmaceutical industry. Fiona has considerable experience in health and safety issues and whilst at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, was a member of the Health and Safety Committee and had a role in radiation protection.
Fiona joined the department in November 2013 as the Biosafety Training and Development Assistant.
