Staff mobility

A staff mobility activity is a great way to pick up new ideas and practices, develop skills in your field, and build and develop international relationships.

Due to the UK's departure from the EU,  we no longer have access to Erasmus+ funding to support international staff mobility. The UK's replacement international programme, the Turing Scheme, unfortunately does not currently offer any funding to support staff mobility.  

We do not have any alternative central source of funding available to support training and development opportunities abroad. 

Funding to support outbound staff mobility activities should instead be sought from your College/School/Professional Service budget. 

Inbound staff mobility is still possible via the Erasmus+ programme - please see the information below for guidance on incoming staff mobility visits.

Staff weeks offer an opportunity to network and knowledge share with institutions across Europe.  Please note that most staff weeks have a cost attached.

Fulbright awards

Fulbright scholarships offer grants and support to American and British scholars, students and mid-career professionals seeking to do a postgraduate degree, teaching or research across the Atlantic. Scholar Awards are available to UK academics for research/lecturing in the US.  Applications for these usually open in August each year.

Global Challenges Teaching Awards are designed to support a team of teaching faculty, learning innovation, and international or education administrators in virtual exchange/ COIL methodology and implementation.
