Edinburgh Global will host information sessions throughout 2017/18 to help staff understand the principles of the Tier 4 visa system.
The UK’s points-based immigration system is broken into five tiers: Tier 4 visas are for students who want to come to the UK for post-16 education.
The new points-based immigration system, introduced from 2008, has been the biggest change in the UK’s immigration rules for decades. The new system means an increase in responsibility for organisations, which wish to recruit non-EU staff or students, to engage in a very detailed system of regulation.
Many University staff will be involved in adapting to the new system, for example anyone who writes confirmation of acceptance for studies or checks attendance.
There are no upcoming events at present, but please do check back soon.
