Zambia lecture: Princess Kasune Zule

A warm welcome to our Special Series Focus from Zambia Lecture.

If every day could be like this....I would be happy and rejoice.

Princess Kasune ZuluMember of Parliament for Keembe, Zambia

Princess Kasune Zulu, the Keembe Member of Parliament in Zambia, is visiting Edinburgh through the partnership between our Global Health Academy, the Zambia UK Health Workforce Alliance and Central Province,  Zambia.

Princess Zulu has had an active advocacy role as an ambassador for World Vision and as an advocate to the United Nations on behalf of those living with HIV.

She is the first minister to Parliament who has openly declared her HIV-positive status.

Professor Peter Piot, previous Executive Director of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and Assistant-Secretary-General of the United Nations, wrote of in praise of Warrior Princess: "It shows that AIDS in Africa is not only about doom and gloom, but also about resilience and many heroes."
