Dr Morgera awarded European Research Council funding for research on benefit-sharing
Dr Morgera has been awarded €1.5 million by the European Research Council (ERC) for a five-year research programme on benefit-sharing.
Dr Elisa Morgera, who is the director of GESA’s Doctoral Network and Lecturer in European and Environmental Law, will receive €1.5 million of funding from the ERC to undertake a five-year research programme on benefit-sharing.
It is hoped that research into benefit sharing - the sharing of economic, environmental and social benefits to encourage the growth of green economies - will develop its use as a legal tool to improve intergenerational equity.
The funding will be used to launch the research programme and build a research team including two legal researchers and a political sociologist.
