COP21: Edinburgh's contributions

International Biodiversity & Climate Panel

The International Biodiversity and Climate Panel with Dr. Braulio Dias (Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity) and Julia Marton-Lefevre (former Director General of IUCN) took place on 25 November in the Old College.

BENELEX at CBD and Climate Conference

On 6th November 2015, the BENELEX team organized the side-event “Fair and Equitable Benefit-Sharing for the Protection and Full Realization of the Human Rights of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities: Challenges and Opportunities in International Law” at the Ninth meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Article 8(j) and Related Provisions of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) held in Montreal, Canada, from 4-7 November 2015.

ESCom 2nd annual conference

A vibrant community of practice for ecosystem services research, decision-making and natural resource management in Scotland, Ecosystem Services Community Scotland (ESCom) encourages dialogue between Science, Policy and Practice, helps to align Scottish ecosystem services research and organises and promote events to support ecosystem services knowledge exchange.

OPERAs project in Brussels for EU Greenweek

Green Week took place on the 3rd-5th June. Organised by the European Commission, Green Week is the biggest annual conference on European environment policy. This year's theme was nature and biodiversity. As an EU funded project focused on ecosystem services OPERAs was invited to attend and talk to delegates about its aims to bridge the gap between science, policy and practice.
