Doctoral Network 2015 February Meeting

This month we’ll hear presentations by members of the Doctoral Network:

GESA Doctoral Network February

Heid Jerstad is a PhD student in Social Anthropology and her research focuses on the impact of weather on social life in the Indian Himalaya. She will give a brief presentation on one aspect of her research, which looks at the health of villagers in the town where she did her research.

Neil Chalmers, who is based at the Scottish Rural College and researches low carbon food products. In his presentation he'll try to answer the question 'What are the likely impacts of a carbon consumption tax on Scottish households?'. Both presentations will have a focus on health-related issues, but are based on very different approaches to research.

Afterwards we will have a discussion on how different disciplines approach some of the issues discussed in the presentations. As always, food and drink will be provided, so please let us know you are coming so we can make sure there is enough for everyone
