Braulio Dias and Julia Marton-Lefevre address Edinburgh Researchers on the 25th November 2015

The University of Edinburgh is delighted to announce a high-level international panel and conversation on biodiversity and climate change on 25th November 2015 featuring Braulio Dias*, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and Julia Marton-Lefevre**, former Director General of the International Union of Conservation and Nature (IUCN).

The event is organized by the School of Law and the School of Geosciences of the University of Edinburgh, in collaboration with the Global Environment and Society Academy (GESA) and the Edinburgh Marine Network (EMN).

Their talks and contributions will illuminate the linkages between the recently adopted Sustainable Development Goals, the Convention on Biological Diversity (and in particular ongoing work on marine biodiversity) and the multilateral negotiations leading to the Paris Climate Conference in December 2015. The event will start at 6pm and will be held in Lecture Theatre 183 in Old College, followed by a small reception. Participation in the event is free, but registration is recommended:
