Global Development Academy & Practical Action join forces

Global Development Academy and Practical Action have joined forces for research on Disruptive Technology in the Global South.

In a new collaboration the Global Development Academy is working with the UK technology and development charity Practical Action to develop new tools for understand the effects of new technologies, from mobile GIS devices to solar powered systems, on employment and labour relations in urban informal economies across South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.

Funded by the Rockefeller Foundation this 1 year project will see 3 MSc students work with Practical Action in Lima, Dhaka and Nairobi, and the development of digital tools for the analysis of social media. For more details, contact Jamie Cross.
