Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security, works with Edinburgh Global Research and Partnership Fund

The Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security is very happy to be working with the Edinburgh Global Research and Partnership Fund, to support the development of Edinburgh’s global partnership community.

The Edinburgh Global Research and Partnership Fund is intended to support the development of Edinburgh’s global partnership community through fostering  links with partners in low and middle income counties (LMIC). Its aim is to facilitate research that addresses the challenges faced by these countries.

The funding has been provided by the Scottish Funding Council as part of the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) – a £1.5 billion fund to support cutting edge research that promotes the economic development and well-being of countries. The GCRF is a key component of the UK’s overseas aid strategy and it forms part of the UK's Official Development Assistance (ODA) commitment.

The Edinburgh Global Research and Partnership Fund also relates directly to the University’s Strategic Development Theme “Influencing Globally” and aims to advance interdisciplinary relationships across the University and extend partnerships with a wide variety of actors in LMICs. It complements the work of the five Global Academies and the Academies will provide support and contribute to the review process for the disbursement of these funds.
