Four Year Experience
Degree programmes in Scotland are designed to include four years of study to give you a broad and flexible education. They allow you to try a range of subjects before specialising.
Even if you know exactly what you want to do, you can study additional subjects and add depth to your education. By the time you graduate your breadth of knowledge will be highly prized by employers, giving you the best chance of success in your chosen field.

Our teaching principles are based on a blend of modern and traditional methods, drawn from best practise and supported by outstanding teaching facilities on Easter Bush Campus.
There are two full days of teaching per week where core courses (80 credits) are delivered, leaving the remainder of the week for students to select additional elective courses (40 credits). Elective courses can be selected to compliment Agricultural Science specialisms from within the extensive portfolio offered by University of Edinburgh.
On-site Agricultural Science classes are a mixture of lectures, practicals, tutorials and seminars with external visits to farms and agri-food businesses offering a real-world context and application of the classroom learning principles. This allows students to apply their knowledge throughout the programmes and prepare them for the world of work as graduates.
