Financial support for undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD study helps us to attract talent from all over the world to the University and removes financial barriers for students whose economic circumstances make attending higher education more challenging, or impossible to even consider.
What we offer
Our community of alumni and donors plays a valued role in ensuring that we can continue to offer financial support to talented students.
Here’s just a selection of some of the scholarship packages we are able to offer, made possible by donations. With your support, we can make them available to more students across the UK and around the world.
These scholarships are offered to undergraduate students who have a household income less than £34,000 or who are care experienced or estranged from their families. The money is to help students make the most out of student life on top of any other available funding.
Having a global community at Edinburgh enrichens the learning experience for everyone. Our Global Access Scholarships help us attract talented students from all over the world, who contribute new perspectives and ideas.
Solutions to global challenges, such as climate change or pandemic management, require deep expertise and evidence that is generated from high-quality research. To help further understanding of the pressing issues society faces, we need to attract top research talent to the University of Edinburgh and build a pipeline of research in the areas that most demand new knowledge.
Finding funding for PhD study can be a challenge for many students but our donor-supported PhD scholarships remove some of the financial barriers that prevent talented students from developing a career in research.
