Field work

Project-oriented fieldwork provides you with a unique opportunity to use the knowledge you have gained in your courses in real-world contexts. Please note this page contains an image gallery.

All GIS students typically undertake a four-day field course to Highland Perthshire  with emphasis on project management and field-based GIS and remote sensing techniques. Students apply the project management skills they have learned and gain skills in data capture. This aspect of the programme aims to provide experience and training in areas of GIS in a more hands-on manner and to apply theoretical considerations encountered in lecture courses to real case-studies.
