Inviting a speaker: please contact the speaker, find a suitable time for their visit and book it in the following Doodle poll: http://www.doodle.com/iyns3q6trabyxvst. When you or the speaker selects a slot, make sure the name of the speaker is followed by the name of the host in brackets. Then, send the speaker’s name, e-mail address and affiliation to the organisers who will send an official invitation. The host is expected to coordinate the visit: welcome, meeting with staff and students, lunch and/or dinner.
Travel arrangements: the institute covers travel expenses and up to two nights in a bed and breakfast, plus lunch and dinner on the day of the seminar. Please contact Eladio for B&B booking. The speaker arranges their own travel (economy; typically < £200). After their visit, they send the receipts and claim for expenses to Eladio. Claim for expenses forms can be downloaded here: http://pgres.geos.ed.ac.uk/Forms/staff/Expenses-Claim-Form.pdf. The Global Change Institute will contribute up to £80 to lunch and an evening dinner for the speaker, host and guests (please send receipts and claim form to Eladio).
