Recycling and Disposal

There are special instructions for laboratory waste

Disposal of waste chemicals etc should be done through Chemistry School Stores. Please contact Tim Calder in Chemistry for further details.

Empty glass winchesters and plastic chemicals bottles can be taken to the recycling bins which are located behind the School of Chemistry. Please wash out all bottles and remove plastic caps from glass bottles for recycling separately. Directions: pass the front entrance of Chemistry, turn left towards the Crew Building, then turn left into the area behind the old part of the Chemistry Building (Chemistry Stores and Deliveries). There is no charge.

There is a collection point for small batteries (not lead-acid type) outside the Health & Safety Manager's Office, Grant Institute, Room 215.
