A few examples of past Geoscience RSO events
The Small Print Seminar (Wednesday April 27th, 15:00 – 17:30, Room 302, Crewe Building:)
Do you ever wonder about pensions, parental leave, end-of-contract or other entitlements for researchers on short term contracts? Have you read the small print or would you like it explained in simpler words? Look no further! Your Research Staff Organization (RSO) is hosting a short seminar to highlight these topics, aimed at post-docs and other research staff. We have invited speakers from administration and Human Resources to bring us up-to-date with most of the regulations with a couple of short presentations and some Q&A. Please also stay for some socialising with your fellow post-docs and researchers.
Whisky tasting November 2015
The research staff organisation (RSO) of the School of Geosciences hosted a networking event with a whisky-tasting theme on a Wednesday afternoon in November 2015. The event was started off with a short presentation on Scottish whisky tradition, which was generally appreciated by folks from abroad. While nibbling delicious Scottish cheeses and snacks, participants were asked to find creative descriptions of the four different whiskies. The Old Library at Drummond Street provided an atmospheric venue. People used the chance to chat with fellow research staff from across the school.
