Providing your saliva sample
Not sure how to provide your saliva (spit) sample? This step by step guide will walk you through how to provide your sample using our kit that will be posted to your home.
Before you provide your saliva sample, please make sure you have the right test kit. You can do this by checking the number on the saliva collection tube matches the the number we sent you by email. Then, follow this video for futher guidance on how to give your saliva sample.

If the fluid level in the saliva collection tube is not at the 2ml line, please email us at genscot@ed.ac.uk.
Warning: Do not swallow any of the contents in this saliva kit. If the solution that’s already in the saliva collection tube comes into contact with skin or eyes, wash with plenty of water. The tube cap may be a choking hazard to small children.

If you lose your kit you can contact us to send a replacement.
If your kit arrives damaged, do not collect your sample. Get in touch with us to let us know. Only collect your sample once we have sent you another kit. Our contact details can be found in the link below:
We will email you when your kit is on the way. If you don't receive your kit within 3 weeks of this email being sent, or if you have any other issues, you can contact us. Details can be found in the link below:
Collecting the sample may be difficult for people who struggle with their grip You may want to ask a friend or relative for assistance to unscrew the saliva collect tube and to place the cap back on.
