Important Information: Covid-19

The current working practices of the General Council Office

We have closely followed Government advice and the University’s lead in action to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19. We place a high priority on the health and wellbeing of General Council members. Accordingly, the following measures have been taken:

  • Closure of the General Council Office

The Secretary and the Assistant to the Secretary of the General Council are working from home and hence unable to access mail or telephone calls directed to the General Council Office in Charles Stewart House. Until further notice, please use electronic communication: General.Council@ed.ac.uk.

  •  Committee meetings

All meetings of the Business Committee and its Standing Committees will take place online until further notice.

  • Half-Yearly Meetings

Both Billet and Annex will be posted on the General Council website

General Council members are invited to raise any issues they may have between meetings, with the General Council office.
