HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

We are proud that in serving as Chancellor of the University from 1953 to 2010 he was also Chairman of our General Council, taking his characteristically keen interest in our activities.

Our deepest sympathies are with Her Majesty The Queen and the rest of the Royal Family, in particular Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal who succeeded her father as our Chairman.

The University will hold a celebration of his life at a date to be announced.
