General Council Half-Yearly Meeting - Saturday 18th February 2023

The next General Council Half-Yearly Meeting will be held on Saturday 18 February 2023 at 10.30 am in Foyers 3 and 4 in the basement meeting facilities of the McEwan Hall. Coffee, tea and biscuits will be available from 10am.

Principal, Professor Peter Mathieson, will present the Annual Report from the University. If you have a question you would like to ask the Principal please email it to: General.Council@ed.ac.uk, either beforehand or during the meeting, and the Principal will endeavour to answer as many as possible. Any that are not covered on the day will be answered by email afterwards.

As usual following the Half-Yearly Meeting, members of the General Council, alumni, partners, family and friends are cordially invited to the General Council Lunch, which will take place this year in the splendid surroundings of the Playfair Library.

We are excited to welcome Professor Steve Brusatte to give the after-lunch talk.

His popular books (The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs) have earned him accolades and he has taken part in several documentaries.  He was the palaeontology consultant for the 2022 film Jurassic World Dominion.
