What is Direct Debit?

Direct Debit is the simplest way to pay bills or make regular payments.

A Direct Debit is an instruction from a customer to their bank or building society authorising an organisation to collect varying amounts from their bank account, as long as the customer has been given advance notice of the collection amounts and dates. Basically you give your UK bank account details to the University and we will take the instalment amount from your bank account on the scheduled dates. It's as easy as that.

And, if we get things wrong, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund direct from your bank as customers making payment using Direct Debit are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. This is offered by all banks and building societies which take part in the scheme.

A Direct Debit payment is different from making payment using a debit or credit card.
