Security Officer embarks on Everest adventure for veterans' charity

University of Edinburgh Security Officer, George Higgins, will be embarking on a trek to the mount Everest base camp in aid of Who Dares Cares.

George Higgins, a Security Officer at The University of Edinburgh, will be embarking on a trek to the Mount Everest base camp in Nepal. The trek will take place at the end of April 2017 and will take George to the south base camp 5380 meters above sea-level.

The journey is in aid of Who Dares Cares, a charity that aims to improve the lives of soldiers suffering from mental health issues, PTSD in particular. George was present at the launch of the charity in February 2017, a day which included a 10 mile route march with full packs weighing 16 kilograms.

George has raised over £1000 for the charity so far and his Total Giving page is open for donations until 29 April:
