Two masonry buildings at the north end of the Sports Centre. The older is 1760s, the other Victorian. Later conversion to a garage with passage beneath the Victorian house. The Sports Centre itself is in the shell of the 1760s former Bell's Brewery, with a new hall behind by Wheler and Sproson, 1981. Sports Centre Listing Cat C. Building renamed Centre for Sports and Exercise in 2007 in line with naming of the Centre for Sports and Exercise Extension due for completion on 2010.
Wherever possible we have installed access ramps and access lifts to help mobility-impaired building users gain access to our buildings.
We have also put in place disabled evacuation lifts and emergency evacuation procedures for wheelchair users in the event of fire.
