Transitioning is a term to describe the process takes to live in the gender they identify as.
What is Transgender
What does Transgender mean. Transgender is an umbrella term for a person/people whose gender identity, gender expression or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex to which they were assigned at birth. “Trans” is sometimes used as shorthand for “transgender.” While transgender is generally a good term to use, not everyone whose appearance or behavior is gender-nonconforming will identify as a transgender person.
|Transgender Man (trans man or FTM)||Assigned female at birth but identify and live as men. May be prefer to be called men, but best to ask individual preference.|
|Transgender Woman (trans woman or MTF)||Assigned male at birth but identify and live as women. May be prefer to be called women, but best to ask individual preference.|
|Transexual||Preferred by some who have transitioned, but prefer to be known as transgender, but best to ask individual preference. Many see this term as outdated.|
|Gender Dysphoria||A clinical diagnosis for someone who doesn't feel comfortbale with their gender assigned at birth. However, not everyone who wishes to transition has /or is experiencing gender dysphoria.|
|Non-Binary||For people whose gender identities do not fit into the gender of male or female. The may consider themselves fo be neither male or female, or sometimes male and sometimes female.|
