The British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (BALEAP) inspects and accredits Academic English courses.
The British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (BALEAP) inspects and accredits Academic English courses against rigorous criteria covering five categories to give an assurance of quality to students, and to support staff across the profession in meeting and exceeding these agreed standards.
Accreditation occurs every four years. Comments from the 2015 report on our summer courses include:
“Considerable attention is paid to helping international students to settle into the university environment and to engage with the social, cultural and support services available to them.”
“The [English for Specific Academic Purposes] courses are a good example of tailoring the Course to students’ needs within specific disciplines.”
“Teachers are well qualified with a range of experience….lessons observed were very well planned and prepared”
Details of the Accreditation Scheme and of other accredited institutions can be found here.
