Moray House Student Experience and Support Office
The Student Experience and Support Office is a hub of information, advice and guidance for Moray House students. If you have a question about any aspect of your life as a student, please feel free to visit or contact us.
We are here all year round to offer you support and guidance, and form a key part of the support network available to you as a student at Moray House School of Education and Sport. We are your first point of contact for a variety of enquiries and non-academic issues. We can connect you to a variety of sources of support available to students, and offer help when you need it.
An example of when you might want to get in touch with us is if difficult or unforeseen circumstances affect your time at University, or in some way interfere with your studies. If you experience any difficulties in this way, it is really important that you let us know as soon as possible – we can advise you on your options and the resources which are available to you.
How to get in touch
Our contact hours
Monday – Friday: 09:00 – 17:00 GMT
For students studying remotely in a different time zone, here is a useful link to match your time zone to ours:
For the time being, and due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, we cannot accommodate students dropping-in to the Student Experience and Support Office without a pre-booked appointment. However, there are many other ways that you can get in touch and speak with us.
Online Live Chat (during the contact hours listed above)
You can speak to a member of the team during our contact hours via our Online Chat function. This is an ideal way to ask us questions and get a fast response. Think of this as the equivalent to dropping into the Student Experience and Support Office for a quick chat. We’ll answer any questions you have or, if your query is best addressed by someone else or another service, we will direct you that way quickly during the chat. Access the online chat function from our 'Student Intranet' page link below.
We’re available and ready to answer your questions and point you in the right direction via our dedicated Student Experience and Support email address. Get in touch with us using the link below. We will get back to you as quickly as possible, but please be aware that during busy times it may be a day or two before we respond.
Digital, in-person appointments
If you have a more in-depth query or would like to discuss a sensitive or personal issue, we recommend booking a digital call with one of our Student Support Officers which will take place over Microsoft Teams. Just drop us an email and pop ‘digital appointment’ in the subject line, and we’ll get back to you with available appointment times. Once you have selected a time, email us back and we’ll send you a calendar invite to the meeting.
On-campus, in-person meetings
If there is a reason you would like to meet with us on-campus, we do have a suitable space and some availability in the Student Experience and Support Office for one-to-one meetings. If you would like to arrange to meet us this way, please email us and pop ‘on-campus appointment’ in the subject line, and let us know when you would like to visit. We’ll get back to you to confirm a date and time.
Please note that this service is by appointment only. In the interest of your safety and ours, we are not able to accommodate unscheduled, on-campus visits to the Student Experience and Support Office at the current time.

Listening and responding to the student voice
Your voice is an integral part of our planning and we are committed to listening to your thoughts and views and working with you to try and ensure we respond and adapt in the best way possible. We have a range of projects and initiatives which we want you to be part of. We also have an active Programme Rep Community to help support you, who will work in partnership with staff to improve the student experience for current and future students.
We seek to offer a thriving social experience to all of our students. We are committed to ensuring inclusivity and promoting equality. We offer support for student initiatives that are aimed at community-building, facilitate the exchange of ideas and provide advice as to the various ways in which students can get involved with peers in their programme, within the School and beyond.
