Sustainability in Education Research Group (SIERG)

We are a diverse group of educators, researchers and activists who have come together to understand and address Sustainability in Education. We encourage new faculty and PhD students to join us.

Our core areas of focus include:

  • interdisciplinary and STEAM approaches to sustainability
  • sustainability in teacher education (and Learning for Sustainability in Scotland)
  • linguistic, ethnographic and international perspectives

  • sustainability from philosophical and policy perspectives
  • sustainability in research methodology and methods

Edinburgh Futures Institute course: Creating Edinburgh

This course allows you to explore the city of Edinburgh, both on foot and online. You'll engage with the city as a site for new ideas, designs and methods, working with students from across the University to respond to Edinburgh's various sites and routes.
