Our overall research vision is the creation, dissemination and curation of world leading knowledge in Sport, Physical Education and Health Sciences. Our research is organized under 4 themes: human performance science, physical activity for health, physical education and sport.
We have 35 members of staff who are active researchers. From the REF 2014 results we were ranked 1st in Scotland and 10th in the UK. We engage in division-crossing, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues across the School and University, and in other institutions within Scotland and internationally.

PAHRC aims to provide evidence of how to encourage people of all ages to ‘sit less and walk more’. Increasing physical activity and reducing sedentary time are major public health goals.
PAHRC's team vision is to become an internationally recognised centre of excellence in the field of physical activity for health. We seek to create an active research environment that will inform teaching (particularly the new MSc in Physical Activity for Health) and knowledge exchange in related areas.

Human Performance Science is a research group within the Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Health Sciences (ISPEHS) in Moray House School of Education. The group aims to advance understanding and education in human performance science.
Our Physical Education Research Forum's vision is to recruit and develop the world’s most promising students and outstanding staff within our area and to excel as national and international center for the creation and dissemination of knowledge in physical education and related areas - health and wellbeing, physical activity and youth sport.
