This project utilises the methodological and pedagogical learning on peacebuilding developed in previous research collaborations, in order to explore its applicability in different contexts and its potential for longer-lasting policy impact. It extends our music- and arts-based participatory processes by connecting with new partners and new young people, for social and policy impact: the Cali Public Libraries Network, the Public Policy Observatory of Cali (POLIS) from ICESI University  and youth and community groups in Cali. Funded by a University of Edinburgh GCRF ODA Impact Fund.

This study investigated how different members of a case study school in Scotland – children and young people, teachers, management staff, parents – understand ‘cultural inclusiveness’ and what the implications are for promoting more culturally inclusive schools. Funded by the MHSES Research, Knowledge Exchange and Impact Innovation Fund.

The project examines to what extent connections are made between two important agendas in HE, internationalisation and equality and diversity and inclusion (EDI), in policy and practice. Primary and  secondary data collected at the site of study unpins the development of a framework for inclusivity in internationalisation that can be applied broadly to support strategic policy development.

The project examines the perceptions of ethnic minority students to understand their HE decision making processes. The project aligns with EDI agendas at the institutional, national and international levels, with aims to address the issue around the underrepresentation of Black and minority ethnic groups in higher education.

This project focuses on Quibdó, the capital of Chocó in the Colombian Pacific: a remote area disproportionately affected by armed conflict and home to mainly Afro-colombian and indigenous populations  who face a complex legacy of intersectional and colonial inequalities. Our project responds to priorities identified by young people and engages them as co-researchers, through music and arts-based methodologies, in visualising alternative futures and developing  social entrepreneurship opportunities.
