Seminar 2 – Cross-College Childhood and Youth Studies Research Webinar Series 2021

Description

In this seminar Emma and Autumn (University of Edinburgh) discussed the their interest in creative participatory methods, what had inspired them in this work and how they planned to develop these methods further through the newly formed Binks Hub.  The presentation was followed by time to talk to seminar participants about their work and the challenges they face in finding and sustaining inspiration.

Biography

Dr Autumn Roesch-Marsh is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work and co-director of the Binks Hub. She teaches social worker skills for practice with children and their families and undertakes research which seeks to improve services and supports for marginalised children and their families.  Autumn has a particular interest in themes such as friendship, transitions, empathy and hope. 

Dr Emma Davidson is a Lecturer in Social Policy and co-director of the Binks Hub. Her work combines childhood, youth and community studies.  She has an expertise in collaborative ethnography, participatory research methods and methodological innovation in ‘big qual’.
