News on US' legal advice on the legality of fees
In response to the pre-event briefing of Think Tank 1, an article of BBC News (30th May, 2013) highlighted the legal advice sought by Universities Scotland on fees charged to students from the rUK after independence. The legal advice was also picked up by Herald Scotland on the 31st May, 2013.
On the 30th May, in the Scottish Parliament, the pre-event briefing paper of Think Tank 1 was cited during FMQs by Liz Smith MSP. In response, Alex Salmond referred to the legal advice published by Universities Scotland as a grounding for the plausibility of continuing to charge students from the rest of the UK tuition fees in an independent Scotland.
