Riddell's article published in BERA's Research Intelligence (1.11.2014)

Professor Sheila Riddell wrote an article entitled "Education and Social Justice in Scotland" addressing various issues on social justice in the education system of Scotland.

Among these issues are social values reflected in the differences between the Scottish and English systems in light of the referendum debate, the lack of initiatives to narrow the attainment gap between socially advantaged and socially deprived students, some potential pitfalls of the new Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and the cut in the spending on school education over recent years in spite of social exclusion and additional support needs.
