These placement pages are designed to support students and practitioners engaged in practice based learning and research.
The site contains information and advice on all aspects of the professional learning elements across all undergraduate and post graduate years of the community education programmes. The information is organised under a number of headings, some universal information is relevant to all placements while more specific information pertaining to particular placements can be found under separate titles. Some of the content is specifically aimed at placement supervisors while others hold resources for students. If your organisation is interested in offering a placement for the first time please go to our “Offering a placement?” pages or if you would prefer, just use the contact lists in the supervisor or students section.
This section contains information, advice and ideas for placement supervisors regarding preparing your organisation for a placement, forming placement contracts, structuring supervision sessions, critically reflective professional learning, evaluation and assessment. There is also information and materials relevant to the practice learning tutor supervision training that we offer.
If your organisation is interested in offering a placement to a Community Education student, this section offers advice on the information and the relevant forms to apply to host a student in your agency. To assist you with completion of the forms, we have provided some examples which convey good practice.
Many of our students undertake research while on placement or undertake research as part of their studies that is relevant to the field of practice. This section serves as an outward facing resource to share these research projects with the field and will be updated as new research becomes available.
