Graduate School Joining Information

MSc Inclusive Education

This page contains information for students starting at the University of Edinburgh in September 2023.

Your Programme Director

Hello there!

We are very pleased to hear that you have accepted a place on the MSc Inclusive Education programme at the University of Edinburgh.  As the Programme Director, I wanted to send you a personal message to say how excited we are that you will be joining us in September.  The following Joining Information pages are full of important information. Please read them carefully.

If you have a conditional offer, please remember to upload your required documents as soon as they become available.

We hope you have had a chance to explore the wide range of courses on offer and are starting to consider which options you would like to take. In the 'Pre-arrival' section you can find a link to a list of available option courses.

During your studies, you will explore policy and practice relevant to social and educational inclusion and develop skills in research and critical reflection.  You might find it interesting to have a look at some of the latest research from the team.

As an addition to the programme, we are hoping to offer students on the MSc Inclusive Education the opportunity to organise voluntary placements in schools or other educational settings for half a day per week.  This will help to develop your knowledge of inclusive education in Scotland and enhance your understanding of theory in practice. To support this, it would be useful if you could send us an up-to-date CV highlighting particular skills or areas of strengths that you could offer, for example, music, art, or languages.  Please send this to us at InclusiveEducation@ed.ac.uk; you can also contact us there with any general questions.

Lastly, we hope you will find studying in Edinburgh both enriching and fulfilling.

We are very much looking forward to meeting you.

Best wishes,

Lisa and the Inclusive Education team
